Response to Who is an "Adult?" : article
According to the article, and adult was thought out to be a person who "has a job, buys a home, gets married, or has a child." However throughout time that concept has changed. A current adult is thought out to be "someone who accepts responsibility, makes independent decisions, and becomes financially independent." Bluntly, an adult is someone who acts like one. I agree with the article when it says that because most people think that they are an adult as soon as they turn 18. That is technically true because they are legally classified as an adult however, mentally they are not. At this point they are just "emerging adulthood."
Adolescence commonly get themselves into trouble around this age with teen pregnancy. By doing so, it makes them in no way an adult. Just because they are of age and becoming a parent, the actions or getting a girl pregnant or becoming pregnant yourself is not responsible. Adults accept responsibility and become wiser throughout their life. Age does not determine when someone becomes an adult.
